Multiple Sclerosis
By: Kristen and Tyler

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a debilitating disease of the central nervous system that effects your whole body. The protective covering of the nerves is eaten away from the nervous system. It's an inflammatory disease in which the insulating covers of the spinal cord, brain, and optical nerves are damaged. It is unknown what the cause is but some people it is caused by the destruction of the immune system or failure of myelin producing cells. Other thoughts of what the cause is are genetics and environmental factors such as infections. Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disorder that effects the central nervous system.
